New Theme for Ye Olde Blog

Under-ConstructionI like it quite a lot, but there’s plenty of work to be done. First, the tab box is way too tall…I need it smaller with less wasted space. I also need to renovate the right side with the featured articles, with the first two or three displaying images and the rest without. The middle column repeats a post if it’s in more than one category.

But these are mainly quibbles. I really like the way it looks (although the banner needs better than the placeholder that currently resides there), and it will possibly be implemented on the church website I also admin.  It’s free, is pretty easy to modify, looks quite nice, and uses a lot of the same functions as the previous one.

Now I just need to get back to posting regularly. There are many things on which I want to comment but feel restricted in that the time to craft what is basically a full article is not available. So expect some short snippets in the very near future. I need to work on my self-discipline, and this is just one facet of this pursuit.

This on-again, off-again, would-be commentator proves that attitudes are contagious, and that some can even kill. To this end, every written word is weighed carefully to ensure the precise delivery of the author's intent while inflicting blunt force trauma to the psyche of the reader.

  • I scrapped the BranfordMagazine theme from last week after determining that it was too tough to tweak. Since the theme writer’s support documents are mostly in German, I decided it was too big of a head-ache to figure out. Pity, I liked the look.

But I found a better one: the free version of Arthemia. It does most of what the last two (Mimbo and BM) did, and it looks really cool in the process. I wish it’d automatically post images, but the way it does it gives more control on how it looks, so *win*.
